Latvia Children’s Fund started its work in 1988. In 1990 it was registered in UNICEF, but since 1991 is also an official representative of Christian Children’s Fund International in Latvia. In 2005 the Fund was registered as a foundation.

The aim of Latvia Children’s Fund activities is to protect children and youth, to promote their development and education, health strengthening, family oriented up bringing and support of especially talented children. Latvia Children’s Fund develops and carries out different projects which bring practical help for children groups and separate children without parents, who have come to a crises situation or are heavily ill, also for talented children who don’t have enough resources for development of their talent.
